Admissions
When you visit Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center, the first person you will probably encounter is a member of our admissions team. Each staff member has been trained extensively on gathering information necessary for your visit including address, insurance, next-of-kin, etc. It is critical the information we obtain is accurate for patient safety, identity theft prevention federal/state regulations and many other reasons. Our staff is dedicated to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality at all times. Additionally, by verifying your information on each visit to our hospital we can significantly reduce the risk of errors and protect your identity.
Before You Arrive
Photo ID and Insurance Card
You will need to register at the Admissions Desk on the first floor of the hospital near the Emergency entrance. Please bring a picture ID and insurance card with you.
Personal Belongings and Valuables
Patients are asked to not bring any valuables (jewelry, wallets, purses, etc.) or personal property to the hospital. Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center will not accept these items or be responsible for the loss, damage or theft of these items. Please leave your valuables at home or send them home with a family member.
When You Arrive
Admitting Process
Emergency Department
If you are having an emergency please dial 911. Upon arrival, please check in at the admitting desk located on the first floor of the hospital near the emergency entrance.
Outpatient tests
Upon arrival for services Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., check in at the admitting desk located on the first floor of the hospital, near the outpatient entrance. If you are being dropped off, please take advantage of our new outpatient entrance that will provide you some protection from the elements.
If you are receiving services on the weekend, before 7 a.m. or after 5 p.m. on any given day, please check in at the Emergency Department admitting area.
Surgery
Upon arrival for services Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m., check in at the admitting desk located on the first floor of the hospital, near the outpatient entrance. Patient Wristbands
At registration a patient identification wristband will be placed on your wrist. Please do not remove your wristband while you are a patient. It provides positive identification for all those who take care of you and is required for your protection. The wristband ensures that all medications, treatments and tests are administered to the correct patients; and hospital staff are instructed to double-check that the name on the patient order matches the name on the patient wristband.
Patients may also receive another wristband at admissions. A yellow wrist band alerts a fall risk, a red band represents an allergy warning and purple indicates do-no-resuscitate orders.
Tobacco and Smoke-Free
Please note that Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center is a tobacco and smoke-free facility. Smoking and tobacco use is not permitted on hospital property. This policy applies to patients, visitors and Associates.
Going Home
Discharge Information
Your physician is the only person who can give the order for your hospital discharge. Feel free to ask your physician any questions you may have regarding your condition or care after discharge.
Discharge Instructions
After your physician has visited with you, your nurse will complete your Discharge Plan. You will receive written discharge instructions from your nurse which will include medication information and follow-up instructions relevant to your condition. Please take the time to review all instructions and ask your nurse to clarify any concerns you may have.
